playful & dreamy: an evening Engagement Shoot at hartwood acres


There’s something magical about Hartwood Acres Mansion: the timeless architecture, the sweeping lawns, the way the light dances around the stone walls in the evening. It’s the perfect place to slow down and capture a love story, and that’s exactly what we did during this beautiful engagement session.


From the moment we arrived, the energy was playful and sweet. We started out near the grand stone pillars, the mansion towering behind them creating a setting that feels both grand and cozy. Brianna wore a flowing white dress that caught the breeze perfectly.


After their outfit change into the more casual look, I started out with having the couple twirling toward each other across the grassy lawn, arms wide open, laughing and soaking in the moment. It felt so natural like a scene from a romantic movie, with the historic mansion standing proudly in the background.


As the sun dipped lower, we moved into a series of soft, intimate shots. They shared a kiss under the warm golden sky, framed by the old-world charm of the stone walls and vintage lamp posts. Every photo told a story of comfort, excitement, and the joy of simply being together.


Tips for Shooting at Hartwood Acres Mansion:


  • Timing is key. The soft evening light brings out the warm tones of the stone beautifully.
  • Use the architecture. From intricate windows to the large archways and stone balustrades, the mansion provides countless natural frames for your photos.
  • Let the couple move! This location feels very “storybook” so capturing motion (walking, spinning, laughing) makes the photos feel even more alive.


This session was such a reminder of why I love what I do! It’s not just about posing, it’s about capturing connection in a beautiful, authentic way. Hartwood Acres Mansion made the perfect backdrop for this beautiful love story.
