Don't stress about posing!

This is a huge part of my job! I am there from beginning to end giving you prompts and poses to follow. With my photography style specifically, I really like candid and natural moments. Sure, in the beginning I'll have you guys give me a boring, classic cheese. That's not where we have all the fun though!

Throughout your session, I will give you several prompts. Some of them may seem so silly, and a lot of times I get weird looks and giggles, but I PROMISE...you will LOVE the end result!

We're telling a story...

Think of it like story-telling. Especially for my couples, most of the time one of them is so shy and awkward in front of the camera. During your session I will often times give you movement driven poses. This is so that I can capture you in the most natural and authentic way possible. The whole time in my head I am pretending like my subjects are in a movie. I really strive to capture that cinematic feel. My goal is for your session to feel like scenes from a movie, rather than just smiling and utilizing stiff posing.

I want you to feel comfortable and confident for the entire duration of your session! Here are some quick tips to help you feel at ease:

  1. The silliest and most candid moments will be your favorite photos, I promise!
  2. Just relax and be yourself, I'm striving to capture authentic emotion. Pretend I am not even there!
  3. Always keep your hands busy - dangling arms look horrible in photos! Throw them in your pocket, pick some flowers, put your lover's hair behind their hair. Literally ANYTHING but dangling arms!
  4. Always be touching and moving!! The in between moments will make for the best photos.
  5. Use props! Flowers, a hat, fix your shoes, read a book to your partner, share some headphones, swing your dress around. Let's tell an incredible story.
